At our San Diego bookshop, customers get to browse wrapped books by genre, pick one based only on a few intriguing clues, then decorate their own bundle at our in-store “Book Bar” with ribbons, bookmarks, stickers, and thoughtful little extras.
And now… by popular demand, we’re bringing that experience online ✨
For online orders, we’ll hand-create a beautiful custom bundle on your behalf using the same bookish goodies we offer in-store. Think of it as receiving a thoughtful surprise package from your favorite indie bookstore.

A Few Important Notes:
- Books are hand-selected and wrapped by our team at You Should Read, choosing only quality reads (not unwanted picks)
- Most books are overstock, shelf pulls, or retailer returns, meaning they are like new, unread but may have minor cosmetic imperfections, marked as returns (with a dot or line on the edge)
- No excessive damage, writing, or water damage
- We only choose books we’d be excited to receive ourselves
- Since this is a surprise experience, all sales are final unless an item arrives damaged in transit
