Creative Ways to Reuse Your Mailing Boxes

Creative Ways to Reuse Your Mailing Boxes

Hey, don’t throw me away! 🙅‍♀️📦

At YOU SHOULD READ, sustainability is one of our core values, alongside giving! We encourage you to join us on this journey.

Our boxes are crafted from corrugated cardboard, a material that's fully recyclable, compostable, and reusable!

HERE ARE WAYS TO REUSE YOUR BOX:

👔 Mail donations
Give your box a second life by using it to mail donations! Visit GiveBackBox.com and choose FREE donation drop-off at any Kohl's.

🗄️ Organize Your Life
Get organized by transforming the box into a DIY holder for magazines, cords, keepsakes, etc

🛠️ Protective Surface for Messy Projects
Flatten and use it as a protective base for messy DIY projects or a sturdy surface for crafts.

🌻 Use in Your Garden
Lay flattened cardboard under the soil in your garden to minimize weeds and retain moisture.

🎨 Get Crafty!
Turn the box into a creative canvas for your artistic endeavors or DIY crafts.

There are many other ways to reuse uncoated/minimally coated cardboard.

However, it's important to remind you not to burn any coated cardboard! According to the USDA Forest Service, the ink printed on cardboard boxes releases chemical fumes and toxins into the air when burned. Cardboard is also a highly flammable and unpredictable fuel source that can create dangerous flames. Stick to the safe side and recycle your cardboard—don’t burn it!

P.S.: We are aiming to shift to even more sustainable and certified paper materials and soy, water or algae-based inks by Q3 for 2024, which will give our boxes even more reuses and repurposes!

Wish List Item: One day, we want to make them fully seeded and plantable into a wildflower garden)!
